Google Apps Academy 101 - Create, Communicate, Collaborate with Chromebooks and Google Apps for Education
This workshop is designed to teach beginners how to use the Chromebook, the Chrome Browser, Google Drive, and Google Apps for Education (GAFE). Participants will learn the ins and outs of their Chromebook, and understand how the device works seamlessly through all the Google Applications. Participants will see how Google Docs, Slides, and Drawings allows teachers and students to create rich content for learning and provide opportunities for real time collaboration. Participants will learn how to work collaboratively on documents, drawings, and presentations in support of common core, sound pedagogy, and innovation skills. Additional topics and applications may be covered with time permitting.

Learning Objectives:
Recognize the educational features of your Chromebook
Recognize the educational features of your Chrome browser
Manage the Chromebook and Chrome Browser Environment
Design an efficient workflow in Google Drive
Interact with Google Docs, Presentations, and Drawing
Explore other Google Applications with time permitting
Create connections to CCSS, 21st Century Learning/Technology Skills, and College/Career Readiness
Audience:
K-12 Teachers, Administrators, Professional Developers, TOSAs. Participants must bring their own laptop or chromebook. (Tablet may be brought in addition.) 3 hour workshop

Google Workshop for Educators (Beginner/Intermediate)
The nationally acclaimed Google Workshop for Educators (GWE) introduces participants to innovative ways Google tools can be used in education. A full day of fast-paced presentations and hands-on activities includes experience with advanced search techniques, collaborative web-based applications, and inspirational instructional strategies. Google Certified Teachers share ways they've implemented tools such as Google Docs, Google Maps, Google Sites, and... even more. Participants who complete the event are given access to the Google Workshops for Educators Network, an online community focused on supporting educators as they learn more about the power of Google to drive student learning. Keep Calm and STEM On
In this three-hour workshop, participants will gain hands-on experience with high quality STEM resources appropriate for K-12 students. The participants will experience the power of using STEM (Students and Teachers Energizing Minds) strategies to engage all types of learners. They will leave with access to research and resources to move their students, school, and district forward with STEM. This session requires flat tables and access to Wi-Fi for all participants.
