Spheros - Toys That Teach
Play with Spehors and get hands-on experience in implementing Engineering and Design Science standards for intermediate grades. Attendees will have the opportunity to design art, mazes, Morse code message, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to make various predictions and hypothesis and use Sphero to test them out in a fun and educational hands-on approach to learning. Spheros will be available. All rockstars have great websites showcasing their biggest hits (student work samples), tour dates (assignment due dates), and info about the band (class information). Most rockstars also have amazing fan (student) pages where their followers can share their love (learning). In this session, you will be the rockstar and will learn how to set up your own classroom webpage using Google Sites, as well as how to use Google Sites with your students as their class portfolios. Get moving and unleash your learning! Learn how to use images to link content to creativity. Participants will be embarking on a short photo walk to find images that spell C-U-E. Next, we will assemble our images into collages using Pic Collage or another collage creation app. Finally, we will use ThingLink to create interactive images that demonstrate personal learning at CUE. Participants can participate with any device as long as they have the ability to take a picture. Participants may want to download Pic Collage (free on iOS and Android) and set up ThingLink accounts ahead of time. Participants need to bring in their own device.

Come learn how to integrate STEAM into your existing Common Core curriculum. We will take a close look at the teacher planning process and several successful projects.
