Coordinator, Distance Learning Projects, OTAN
Penny Pearson is the Coordinator for Distance Learning Projects with the Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN), a leadership project funded by the California Department of Education to provide electronic collaboration, information and support for instructional technology and distance learning to literacy and adult education providers throughout the state. As Coordinator Penny plans, develops, delivers and facilitates professional development around online teaching and learning and supports teachers integrating technology in the adult education classroom. Before coming to OTAN, Penny taught Career and Technical Education classes primarily in software applications, Internet research, digital photography and more. Penny presents at the local, regional, statewide and national conferences for the past 15 years. New passions include the use and creation of Open Educational Resources and helping teachers understand the power of the Creative Commons licensing and protecting their intellectual property rights.
